Life Walk Lesson 39 Generosity

Life Walk Bible Lesson 39 Generosity

John 3:16 (NASB)

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His *only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” [*NASB Note: Or: Unique, only One of His kind]

Daniel 12:3

“*Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the *expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” [*The instructors will; *firmament]

Psalm 35:27-28

27 “Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; and let them say continually, ‘The Lord be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant.’

28 And my tongue shall declare Your righteousness and Your praise all day long.”

Psalm 36:5-10

5 “Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens,Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgements are like a great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your House; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.

9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

10 O Continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.”

Acts 2:42-47

42 “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.’

43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.

44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;

45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them all, as anyone might have need.

46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,

47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

Acts 4:32-35

32 “And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.

33 And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.

34 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales

35 and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.”

Ephesians 1:3-10

3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love

5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the kind intention of His will,

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

8 which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight

9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him

10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things in the earth.”

Scripture Reading: Psalm 37

Psalm 37:25-26

25 “I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.

26 All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are a blessing.”

Genesis 12:2-3

2 “And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing;

3 And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

2Corinthians 9:6-15

6 “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

9 as it is written, ‘He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.’ [Psalm 112:9]

10 Now He Who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.

13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,

14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Psalm 112:9

“He [V.1. the man who fears the Lord] has given freely to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be exalted in honor.”

2Corinthians 8:11-15

11 “But now finish doing it also, so that just as there was the readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it by your ability.

12 For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

13 For this is not for the ease of others and for your affliction, but by way of equality —

14 at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality;

15 as it is written, ‘He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little had no lack.’”

1Chronicles 29:17-18

17 “Since I know, O my God, that You try the heart and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make their offerings willingly to You.

18 O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, our fathers, preserve this forever in the intentions of the heart of Your people, and direct their heart to You;”

Luke 6:38

“ Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

James 2:15-16

15 “If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,

16 and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,’ and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”

Luke 10:30-37

30 “Jesus replied and said, ‘A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.

31 And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33 But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion,

34 and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

35 On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’

36 Which of this three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?

37 And he said, ‘The one who showed mercy toward him.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do the same.’”

Matthew 25:35-40

35 “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.

37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked and clothe You?’

39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?

40 The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’”

Matthew 6:1-4

1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father Who is in heaven.

2 So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father Who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”

Mark 12:38-44

38 “In His teaching He was saying, ‘Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings in the market places,

39 and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets,

40 who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers; these will receive greater condemnation.

41 And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums.

42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent [NASB Note: quadrans; i.e. 1/64th of a denarius]

43 Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, ‘Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;

44 for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.’”

Hebrews 6:10

“For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.”

Malachi 3:10-12

10 “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.

11 Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,’ says the Lord of hosts.

12 All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Proverbs 18:16

“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.”

Philippians 4:10-20

10 “But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.

11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.

13 I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me.

14 Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction.

15 You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone;

16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.

17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.

18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Romans 12:1

“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”

Hebrews 13:15-16

15 “Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.

16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

John 4:21-24

21 “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.

23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.’”

Scripture Reading: Acts 10:17-33

Acts 10:30-32

30 “Cornelius said, ‘Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour [NASB Note: 3-4 p.m.] and behold, a man stood before me in shining garments,

31 and he said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God.”

 Psalm 20:1-4

1 “May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!

2 May He send you help from the sanctuary and support from Zion!

3 “May He remember all your meal offerings and find your burnt offerings acceptable! Selah.

4 May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your counsel!”
