Life Walk Lesson 5 — God is our Teacher
Psalm 25:4-6 [NASB]
4 “Make me know Your ways, Lord; teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my Salvation; for You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, for they are from of old.”
Psalm 25:8-10
8 “The Lord is good and upright; therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are faithfulness and truth to those who comply with His covenant and His testimonies.”
Psalm 25:12-14
12 “Who is the person who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
13 His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
14 The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He will make them know His covenant.”
Proverbs 16:9
“The mind of a person plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
2Timothy 3:16-17 [AMP]
16 “All Scripture is God-breathed [given by Divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately — behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage];
17 so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Ephesians 3:8-9 [AMP]
8 “To me, [though I am] the very least of all the saints [God’s people], this grace [which is undeserved] was graciously given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the good news of the incomprehensible riches of Christ [that spiritual wealth which no one can understand],
9 and to make plain [to everyone] the plan of the mystery [regarding the uniting of believing Jews and Gentiles into one body] which [until now] was kept hidden through the ages in [the mind of] God Who created all things.
10 So now through the church the multifaceted wisdom of God [in all its countless aspects] might now be made known [revealing the mystery] to the [angelic] rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
11 This is in accordance with [the terms of] the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,
12 in Whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him [that is, our faith gives us sufficient courage to freely and openly approach God through Christ].”
Exodus 4:12
“Now then, go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and will teach you what you should say.” [In context: Exodus 4:1-31 God sends Moses]
Isaiah 48:17
“This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says, ‘I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit [benefit], Who leads you in the way that you should go.”
Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.”
John 5:19
“So Jesus answered them by saying, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself [of His Own accord], unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever things the Father does, the Son [in His turn] also does in the same way.”
Colossians 1:28
“We proclaim Him, warning and instructing everyone in all wisdom [that is, with comprehensive insight into the word and purposes of God] so that we may present every person complete in Christ [mature, fully trained, and perfect in Him — the Anointed].”
Christ — The Wisdom of God
Colossians 2:3
“In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.”
Proverbs 3:15-19 [AMPC]
15 "Skillful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.
19 The Lord by skillful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens.”
Proverbs 8:12-36 [AMPC]
12 I, Wisdom [from God], make prudence my dwelling, and I find out knowledge and discretion.
13 The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.
14 I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.
15 By me kings reign and rulers decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges and governors of the earth.
17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation, and right standing with God).
19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than refined gold, and my increase than choice silver.
20 I [Wisdom] walk in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), in the midst of the paths of justice,
21 That I may cause those who love me to inherit [true] riches and that I may fill their treasuries.
22 The Lord formed and brought me [Wisdom] forth at the beginning of His way, before His acts of old.
23 I [Wisdom] was inaugurated and ordained from everlasting, from the beginning, before ever the earth existed.
24 When there were no deeps, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains laden with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
26 While as yet He had not made the land or the fields or the first of the dust of the earth.
27 When He prepared the heavens, I [Wisdom] was there; when He drew a circle upon the face of the deep and stretched out the firmament over it,
28 When He made firm the skies above, when He established the fountains of the deep,
29 When He gave to the sea its limit and His decree that the waters should not transgress [across the boundaries set by] His command, when He appointed the foundations of the earth—
30 Then I [Wisdom] was beside Him as a master and director of the work; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited earth and delighting in the sons of men.
32 Now therefore listen to me, O you sons; for blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not refuse or neglect it.
34 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoever finds me [Wisdom] finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord.
36 But he who misses me or sins against me wrongs and injures himself; all who hate me love and court death.”
Wisdom 7:25-27 [CEB]
25 "Wisdom is the warm breath of God’s power. She pours forth from the all-powerful one’s pure glory. Therefore, nothing impure can enter her.
26 She’s the brightness that shines forth from eternal light. She’s a mirror that flawlessly reflects God’s activity. She’s the perfect image of God’s goodness.
27 She can do anything, since she’s one and undivided. She never changes, and yet she makes everything new. Generation after generation, she enters souls and shapes them into God’s friends and prophets."
Ephesians 5:1-2 [AMP]
“Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; 2 and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.”
